I have an announcement based on discussions I’ve had with several people after they read my book. I am overwhelmed at the positive feedback you have given me, and I have honestly been surprised at the number of people who said they could relate or know someone who was in the same place I was when it came to their mental health. So many have said these books spoke to them positively, and were uplifting, and would do that for so many people today seeking a purpose and reason to live after all the lockdowns and crazy twists life has taken the past few years. I know many of you have lent your copy to family members and friends who could benefit from the story, which is a great way to spread the word. It is my honor to be part of that process with you. Others have gathered a friend group to work the daily devotionals together to lift each other and get the most out of "Embracing Gratitude".
I’ve discussed ways to spread the story in other ways. One way is to donate copies of the book to church libraries, public libraries, Little Free Libraries, or cancer treatment centers all over the country. I’m setting up a program as part of the One Good Thing Challenge to purchase copies in bulk so I can donate books for this purpose. You can order a copy via the order page website for $10 to $15 per book to be donated, and I will create a “donated by” sticker for the book. If you have a specific destination you want it delivered, we will do what we can to make that happen as well - whether it be a school, a church, a prison, a homeless shelter, a public library, a little free library, or a cancer treatment center. If you don’t have a specific destination in mind, we will choose one for you. If you want to take the initiative, go find a local Little Free Library in your area here.
Another idea is to run a small fundraiser to purchase several books for local outlets. It can be as simple as getting some friends together to donate a couple of dollars together, have a bake sale, sell local pizza discount cards, sell our fundraising cookbooks and use the proceeds to buy donation books....or contact us and we will brainstorm with you! The sky is the limit when making a difference in your community!
Thank you to those who have given input to this initiative and continue to support the book. I look forward to more discussions and new ideas to make a difference in the world to make things a little better each day! I hope to see you as I go out on the road at the book festivals and signings!
The "One Good Thing" Challenge is one of the direct acts I took to turn my life around and find the good in the world. I'd like to challenge you to join me and share some of your Good Things with our community. I Challenge you to be a blessing to others and show how you seek Good Things that make a difference in your life. Thank you in advance for sharing and lifting others who need to see something good.
Remember, you WILL find the things you are looking for!
